Tony’s LCC Update 1/5/19

Dear LCCers,
Happy New Year! I pray it will be a Spirit-filled, Christ-led, happy and joyous year for you and your family.
During 2019 we are planning to go through God’s Word in a special way. As you know, for several years we have offered through the Bible reading plans and encouraged everyone to join us in going all the way through Genesis to Revelation. This time we are going to be preaching all the way through the Bible as we read! Every sermon in 2019 will be a part of this design.
Our overall title for this series is “I Know This is True: Thru God’s Word in ’19.” We are not going to just start and Genesis, but plan to go through the Scriptures like this:
  • The Gospels: January – April
  • Acts: May
  • 13 Greatest Old Testament Heroes: June – August
  • The Epistles: September – November
  • Revelation: December
Each time we begin a new section we will make available reading cards which will guide our daily reading. We also plan to make an information sheet available, with helpful material explaining how we can better understand that portion of the Bible. For instance, this Sunday when our series begins we will have reading cards and an information sheet ready for you on the Gospels! I encourage everyone at LCC to take advantage of this opportunity go through the Word with us. “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”, Jesus memorably told us (Matthew 4:4). The Psalms declare that “the decrees of the Lord are firm and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb” (Psalm 19:9-10).
Pray about this series! Join us as we draw close to our Lord in ’19. Thank you for your prayers for our church–see you Sunday–
